From the first garden in Eden to the New Jerusalem, Scripture invites us into a journey of growth, cultivation, and community.
In Eden, humanity walked with God (Genesis 2:8). Later, God called His people to plant gardens and seek the welfare of the city (Jeremiah 29:5-7). Jesus described His followers as both a fruitful vineyard (John 15:5) and a city on a hill whose light cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14). The story culminates in Revelation, where the river of life flows through the New Jerusalem, bringing healing to the nations (Revelation 22:1-2).
As GardenCity, we are stepping into this full biblical arc: rooted in Christ, growing together, and shining God's love into the world.
From now through Fall, Faith Family Church is receiving a new name and organically becoming GardenCity.
Becoming Garden City Together
What might it look like to embody both Garden and City?
How might this identity shape the way we live and love in this time and place?
These are the questions we are living into together.
This is not just a name change—it’s a step toward becoming more fully who God is calling us to be.
Together, we are stepping into the story God is writing among us—growing deep roots in Him, cultivating life around us, and shining His love into our world.
Below are some next steps to help us continue the journey as we become GardenCity
God has always been telling a story—a story of gardens planted, cities built, and people invited into His restoration work. As we become GardenCity, we are embracing that story with open hands and open hearts. This isn't about a new name; it's about living more fully into who God has made us to be: rooted in His love, growing in faith and community, and carrying His light into every corner of our world.
