Through Outreach, we join God’s story of restoration in our neighborhoods and around the world. We partner with those already writing chapters of hope and healing, believing that when communities flourish, they reveal glimpses of God’s coming kingdom.
One way we do this is through Streetlights, our ministry in East St. Louis. Streetlights allows us to walk alongside our ESL friends and families with practical support, meaningful relationships, kids programs, and the hope of Jesus.
We also partner with people and organizations who are doing meaningful, gospel-centered work both locally and globally. Rather than trying to reinvent the wheel, we come alongside what God is already building. From initiatives that meet practical needs to mission partners who extend the love of Jesus across borders, we want to be a church that shows up with humility, generosity, and consistency. Our hope is to live sent, right where we are and wherever God leads.
Streetlights has been a cornerstone ministry of GardenCity for almost 25 years. What began as a simple desire to love our friends and family in East St. Louis has grown into a steady presence where relationships are built, needs are met, and the light of Jesus shines. Streetlights is part of our history and part of our future, and there is a place for you.
Here are some of the ways you can get involved:
Want to donate?
Each time you shop for your family, consider picking up a few extra non-perishable items to share. Bring them to the collection bins in either foyer, and our Streetlights team will make sure they reach families in East St. Louis who need them most. Everything Streetlights takes to our friends and family in East St. Louis comes from our church family.
Want to meet practical needs?
Serve in the Food Pantry organizing donations or serve on the Food Team by distributing non-perishable groceries in ESL to the families we serve.
Want to pray?
Join the Streetlights Prayer Team, lovingly called Adopt a Block. As you walk and pray through the neighborhood, you will get to know the people we serve, listen to their stories, and share God’s love through presence, connection, and prayer.
Love kids?
Join Kids Jam, where children come together for fun, friendship, and learning about Jesus.

GardenCity partners with The Restore Network, a local organization working to change the culture of foster care so every child can experience safety, healing, and belonging. We believe the Church has a vital role in surrounding vulnerable children and the families who care for them.
Whether you are exploring foster care, already involved, or simply want to help, there is a place for you.
Curious about fostering?
Restore’s Foster & Adopt 101 Workshop is an honest, pressure-free space to ask questions and learn the basics of the foster care process. You will leave encouraged, informed, and glad you came.
Already part of the foster care world?
Whether you are a foster parent, CASA worker, DCFS professional, or legal guardian, we would love to hear from you and support you in your work.
Want to serve in other ways?
Not everyone is called to foster, but everyone can do something. Volunteers provide critical support that makes it possible for more families to open their homes. Your part matters, and it helps kids know they are safe, loved, and wanted.
